Warwickshire Divisional Secretary, Keith Bunting has agreed to continue as Regional Officer for the Eastern Region based in Newmarket, Suffolk. Originally his appointment was from September 2004 - January 2005 and temporary arrangements to cover the Warwickshire role were put into place. Now that this arrangement will continue beyond a year Keith believed that this was to long to continue with a temporary arrangement. He offered his resignation to the Warwickshire NUT Committee in July 2005 to enable them to make permanent arrangements.

Max Hyde and Tony Souter were elected by the committee to be Joint Divisional Secretaries until the annual elections in March 2006. They will inform members in due course which responsibilities each will have.

Max is Divisional Treasurer and was acting Divisional Secretary from September 2004 - August 2005. She is NUT National Executive member for this area and sits on a number of national committees. From September 2005 she will be the Chair of ATP, which is the joint teacher union negotiating body.

Tony is Assistant Divisional Secretary and was Secretary North Warwickshire NUT. He is the Health and Safety advisor for the union and has pioneered H&S work in the county leading many initiatives in this field.
